HTC Announces New 5G Smartphone With 5000mAh Battery

For people who are planning on buying a new smartphone, there’s soon going to be a new product to look out for in the market in the HTC U20 5G.

The release of HTC U20 5G serves as a significant milestone for HTC as it is the company’s first smartphone that sports 5G technology. Also, the phone comes with several other amazing features as well. First of all, the smartphone offers a real, long-lasting battery life, all thanks to its 5,000 mAh battery. Accordingly, users won’t have to bother charging the phone several times a day, even if they use it quite often.

When it comes to other specs, the smartphone features Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor, 8GB RAM, and 256 of storage space, which can be expanded as well. With this, it is quite sure that the phone won’t lack a bit in the performance department.

Other than that, the HTC U20 5G packs a 6.8″ FHD LCD and a 32 MP front camera inside of the hole-punch notch. As for the back, the phone has cameras with 48 MP sensor, 8 MP ultrawide sensor, and 2MP depth and macro cameras, alongside a flashlight. Plus, users will also find a fingerprint scanner located at the back. Another thing that you should know is that HTC is going to be ditching the headphone jack for this phone.

Although this phone will come with 5G, there’s a bit of an upset that the makers have opted for sub-6Ghz 5G instead of mmWave, which provides better speed. In terms of its price, you can buy the HTC U20 5G smartphone for nearly $640.

In addition to the HTC U20 5G, the company also announced another new phone in the HTC Desire 20 Pro. This phone is basically for those who aren’t interested in 5G technology and are a bit short on cash. For about $300, buyers are going to be getting with this phone a Snapdragon 665 processor, 6GB RAM, and 128GB storage space. The battery size will remain the same as HTC U20 5G, but there will be a headphone jack.

For those interested, the pre-orders for HTC U20 5G and HTC Desire 20 Pro will commence from July 1st and June 18th, respectively. It is worth mentioning that these phones have only been announced for Taiwan as of yet. However, there are high expectations that other countries will soon catch up.

Although the U20 makes for HTC’s first 5G smartphone, it isn’t like the company has not released a 5G product before. A 5G hotspot featuring a Snapdragon 855, 7,660 mAh battery, 5″ 720p touchscreen, and Android 9, has been a part of the company’s offerings for some time now.

Conclusion

HTC plans on making its entry into the 5G world with the U20 5G smartphone that features top-notch specs. With that being said, the company will have to compete with Samsung S20 Ultra, which outshines HTC’s U20 in almost every way. Considering this, only time will tell how well this phone performs in the market. On top of that, potential buyers hailing from parts of the world other than Taiwan will have to show some patience for these new products to be made available.
