AAA Open World VR Game From Rockstar in the Works

First noticed on a post in Reddit, Videogames Deluxe from Sydney have reported on their official LinkedIn account that they are getting ready for a tremendous project for Rockstar that’s going to involve developing a free-roam AAA title. To top it off, the game is going to operate in VR- the latest and greatest in terms of modern gaming.

Having finished the critically well received L.A.Noire: The V.R. Case Files we are now gearing up for a new project, a AAA open world title in VR for Rockstar. 2020 marks our 7th year of working exclusively for Rockstar in Sydney and we are excited to taking on this ground breaking project. We have a number of job openings in our Sydney studio including Senior Programmers, Engine Programmer, Designer and Animator. If you are interested in one of these positions or would like two speak to someone who works here about VGD please get in touch.”, as affirmed on the original post by Videogames Deluxe.

Essentially, Videogames Deluxe is to be held responsible for the making of L.A Noire: The VR Case Files- a game highly praised for its exciting and engaging gameplay along with mechanics. The game launched on Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, along with an added compatibility for PSVR.

The team of Videogames Deluxe isn’t, however, mentioned as one of the developers on the Steam page of L.A Noire VR, but it’s apparent in the credits of the game, which can be seen below.

The actual L.A Noire’s director Brendan McNamara is also a part of Videogames Deluxe and works in their studio along with former team members of the game. Maintaining his position, Brendan, along with Team Bondi, is bent on making the upcoming VR Rockstar game an idyll experience for gamers with Videogames Deluxe.

While UploadVR has contacted Rockstar for official confirmation, they’ve stated that in a conversation with HTC a couple of years ago, it was known that Rockstar had plans in the domain of Virtual Reality. Consolidating this thought is the fact that how decent modifications have come out for the all-time great Grand Theft Auto V, making it compatible with VR.

With that being said, Red Dead Redemption 2, another masterpiece produced by Rockstar, has splendid potential for VR support and would seem like a sound decision if it happened to launch for VR.

The part less focused on in the original post by Videogames Deluxe is how they are in search of many capable roles for their latest project. They require Senior Programmers, an Engine Programmer, a Designer, and an Animator for their latest endeavor.

While no other details about the game itself have been revealed, gamers are indeed left in awe with the onset of this ground-breaking news. More news on the project is expected to follow later this year.
