Theta Legion to Launch on Oculus Quest VR This Summer

Theta Legion, a retro first-person shooter based off of the 90s, had just released for the Oculus Rift late last year, but now it’s set to launch for Oculus Quest as well- an all-in-one VR gaming bundle.

Inspired from all-time legends such as Doom and Quake, Theta Legion comprises an identical design with pixel-art graphics and texture. A blend of 3D elements with 2D sprites gives it an immersive classic feel.

Theta Legion is an enhanced version of Theta Legion Go, which came out free for Oculus Go back in December 2018. However, when the game launched on Oculus Rift in 2019, Garage Collective, the developers, labeled the newly released version as a “bigger, faster, and more badass upgrade.” The same could be said about the upcoming release on Oculus Quest as well.

UploadVR just tried the game and gave it a go on Oculus Quest playing a very initial version. They described it as a game that is supposed to feel classic, it’s highly modern, and the graphics look really good as well. Below is a link to some early gameplay.

The developers of Theta Legion have said that the game is still in early stages, and there’s a lot left to do with it as of now. Moreover, they cannot specify a release date for the game on Oculus Quest, but the launch is targeted somewhere in the summers of this year.
