Mercedes-Benz to Use Nvidia Tech in its 2024 Automated Cars

The future of vehicle advancement looks stunning as two company giants, Mercedez-Benz and Nvidia, form a partnership to create their computing systems in the automotive industry futuristically. These ought to accommodate remote functions, over-the-air programming features, advanced upgrades, and autopilot potential.

The electrical infrastructure of an automobile provides it with vast capabilities depending on how advanced the foundation has been made. It allows flexible communication while receiving and sending files for alerts or notifications and multiple updates.

With that being said, both companies intend to deliver “the most sophisticated and advanced computing architecture ever deployed in an automobile.”

The distribution of the all-new tech is supposed to arrive in 2024, with Mercedes-Benz initiating the project with modifying its array of vehicles by hosting the latest Nvidia’s “Drive” platform. This development is set to come fully packed with the capabilities of automated AI driving applications.

The methodology is similar to how Tesla introduces minor updates to its vehicles here and there. This means that the owner of a Mercedes-Benz is bound to see their vehicle getting upgraded continuously over time, even after a substantial amount of time they bought their car.

Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of Nvidia, characterized the vehicles as “perpetual, and upgradable” and said, “The entire product is going to be designed differently.”

Diverse freedom of choice is going to be provided to every excited customer as they can opt for choosing a wide variety of upgrades and applications, subscription services, and extra attributes via advancement in over-the-air (OTA) software.

Moreover, such a spectacle opens up possibilities to generate further income for car manufacturers and help in the earlier assessment of safety measures and other improvements.

Financially, Mercedes-Benz and Nvidia haven’t made a public statement regarding their partnership.

Ola Källenius, head of Mercedez-Benz AG has said,

This new platform will become an efficient, centralized and software-defined system in our future Mercedes-Benz vehicles. NVIDIA’s AI computing architecture will help us streamline our journey towards autonomous driving.

This new project isn’t going to be unattended to. The state-of-the-art computing system will be a part of the next-generation of Mercedez-Benz vehicles.
